Xu Bing (1955-) Born in Chongqing. Xu graduated from the Department of Print from the Central Fine Arts Academy in 1981 and began to work in the academy as a teacher. He acquired a MA in 1987 in the same academy. In 1990, he accepted the invitation of Wisconsin University and immigrated to USA. Now he lives in New York. He has held solo shows in important museums in USA, Spain and Czech. In addition, he has been invited to important group exhibitions in UK, France, Canada, Japan, Australia, Finland, Italy and South Korea. In 1999, he won Mac Arthur Award, the biggest award in America art circle.
