CHEN DANQING |
| Autorbiografie |
Chen Danqing was born in Shanghai in 1953. He began his oil painting career in 1970, while still living in a rural area. In 1978, he enrolled at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, where he remained in a teaching capacity after graduation, prior to moving to New York in 1982, where he worked as a professional painter until his return to China in 2000. Since then, he has been a professor with the Fine Arts School of Qinghua University and in charge of the Studio named after himself. Whilst living in New York, the then centre of Western Contemporary Arts, Chen did valuable research into both Chinese and Western arts, resulting in the publications New York Minute, Chen Danqing’s Music Notes, Redundant Object Matter. |
