Takashi Murakami, artist, delegate of KAIKAIKIKI Limited Corporation. He was born in Tokyo in 1962. He took the doctor’s courses in Fine Arts Research Section in Tokyo Art University. He became an artist in 1991 when he held his solo exhibition AKASHI, TAMIYA. He won ACC Initial Award by Rockefeller Financial Group and accepted invitation by PS1. ART PROJECT to stay in New York. He was invited to be a visiting professor in Art School in UCLA. He was highly appraised overseas by his Pop works based on Japanese cartoons and some other subcultures. His main solo exhibition include: 2001, call up or open the door or reply or destroy in Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo; 2002, Kaikaikiki by Cartier Modern Fine Arts Financial Group. He presented a giant sculpture Double Helix Reversion in outdoors in New York Rockefeller Center in 2003 and in Roppongi Hills in 2005, which became a topic then. He lead art activity GEISAI, and designed Roppongi Hills figures to cooperate with LV. He held a large scale retrospective exhibition in Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles.
